And somehow it’s the first Friday of November! How did that happen? We completely skipped autumn and went straight to winter here in central Illinois. Admittedly, I was a little upset at first, but now I’ve decided to just go with it and will be posting one winter / festive themed Noteworthy point until the end of the year. It may be a little obvious which one it is…
First, in case you missed it:
I posted two new College Candids this week! One featured Kristen, The Sophisticated Gal, who went to Pennsylvania State University and majored in Advertising. The other featured my friend Hunter, who goes to Vanderbilt University and is majoring in Economics as well as Human and Organizational Development.
I also posted a few November themed phone wallpapers, which you can find here!
This week I read a great post on The Art of Being Female, where Carly, a.k.a. The College Prepster, talked about how she grew her following. I thought it was a very interesting read and, naturally, I especially liked the three tips she had for bloggers just starting out.
I found Katie’s blog, Brewing Up Style, when I was doing some searching on Pinterest to see if I could find more bloggers from Illinois. As I was going through her blog, I really enjoyed reading this post in which she shares one of her beauty tips. I actually ended up asking if I could feature her in a College Candid, which she kindly agreed to, so you’ll be seeing that sometime this next week!
One thing that’s very obvious upon looking in my closet and around my room is my love for Vera Bradley bags. I have prints dating back to 2011 that I used in high school (which is crazy to think about) and am always on the lookout for a new favorite. This week, I found one! I absolutely adore the new cute holiday, penguin print, Playful Penguins Gray. I bought the Iconic Vera Tote because it can hold everything I would possibly need for a day on campus, and I have no regrets.
On the Television
Last night, with the help of my Apple TV, my roommate and I watched Demi Lovato’s documentary Simply Complicated. I really enjoyed it and recommend it to anyone with a spare hour-and-a-half. One of the most interesting aspects for me was getting a “behind the scenes” look on how Demi recorded her album. I had virtually no idea how songs are recorded, so it was really interesting.
On my iPhone
Last night, I was in the middle of the workout when my phone started blowing up with Tumblr notifications from Taylor Swift. Realizing there was a new song from Reputation out, I immediately started listening and really like it! It kind of reminds me of Wildest Dreams, which was one of my favorite songs on 1989. It’s definitely worth a listen.
